LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Vacationing former first lady Nancy Reagan was bruised in a fall in a London hotel room on Thursday but resumed her visit of Britain after a brief checkup at a hospital, her Los Angeles-based spokesman said. Doctors advised the 83-year-old widow of former U.S. President Ronald Reagan to limit her activities during the next couple of weeks so she can heal, spokeswoman Joanne Drake told Reuters.

"She's walking, but she's walking slower than normal," Drake said, adding that Reagan had nevertheless kept a number of Thursday appointments after her fall, including visits with Prince Charles and former prime minister Margaret Thatcher.

Drake said she did not know how Reagan fell.

Reagan is in the midst of a 10-day vacation trip, her first visit overseas since her husband, the 40th U.S. president, died last June at the age of 93.
